What is proposed?
To establish a Community Planning Permit By-law for the Town of Oakville which would apply specifically to Midtown Oakville and Bronte Village.
The Community Planning Permit (CPP) By-law is the regulatory tool with which the Town would implement its Official Plan for Midtown Oakville and Bronte Village. This CPP By-law includes provisions related to Interpretation, Administration and General Community Building matters that could be applied anywhere within the Town and includes Area Specific Community Building provisions that would apply to Midtown Oakville. Through a separate notice of statutory public meeting, the Town is also proposing Area Specific provisions for Bronte Village (see the Statutory Public Meeting notice for Bronte Village Growth Area, File No. 42.15.69). Furthermore, the Town is proposing to enable Inclusionary Zoning (see the Statutory Public Meeting notice for the Proposed Inclusionary Zoning Official Plan Amendment) and as such this by-law also includes Inclusionary Zoning provisions which require the provision of affordable housing units within certain developments located within Protected Major Transit Station Areas, which includes Midtown Oakville.
Visit the Community Planning Permit System page for more information.
